Commercial Agent Laws in all 27 EU Member States, Norway, Switzerland, and Turkey – with Expert Comments
3rd, expanded and revised edition, July 2021, 568 pages. The Greece country chapter prepared by KPAG Kosmidis & Partner law firm. ISBN 3-89095-664-5. Price: €39.90.
Especially for small and medium-sized manufacturers, distribution via commercial agents remains, from an economic standpoint, the best route for cross-border market entry. According to CDC statistics for 2020, around 55.5% of German commercial intermediary businesses work with foreign – chiefly European – suppliers, and a further rise is expected in the coming years. Knowledge of the applicable rules across the EU is therefore essential. While the implementation of the EU Commercial Agents Directive of 18 December 1986 harmonised commercial agency law across the EU, the rules are not identical in every state. The book accordingly sets out the applicable legal position on a country-by-country basis.

Europe Handbook Debt Collection
27 Portraits of the Debt Collection System in European Countries
1st Edition 2009
ISBN 3-9811386-0-0
352 pages – Hardcover
Price €49.90 – Dec. 2009
Cross-border trade in Europe is growing, and outstanding receivables are growing at the same pace. The European Handbook of Debt Collection contributes – as does modern debt collection itself – to ensuring that business relationships can continue even after a dispute over late payment, provided the matter is handled professionally.
The legal foundations of the European states and their practical customs in dealing with defaulting debtors differ considerably in places. The 27 profiles collected here present the particularities of debt collection in the following countries:
Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, the United Kingdom, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Cyprus.
The compendium provides clear answers and direct practical guidance for the effective and fair handling of debtors abroad in Europe.

Retention of Title Worldwide – Legal Practice in 32 Countries
Burghard Piltz, CBBL Cross Border Business Law AG (ed.). The Greece country chapter prepared by KPAG Kosmidis & Partner law firm.
ISBN 978-3-943011-69-2. EUR 63.00 incl. VAT.
Retention of title is the most common form of credit security for sellers, including in export trade. However, the creation and effect of ownership rights are governed by the law of the destination country. The 32 country chapters in this book systematically set out the differences between German retention of title and the available security instruments under the relevant foreign legal systems – only with this knowledge can security arrangements for deliveries abroad (including within the EU) be drafted so that the corresponding security instruments are legally valid and enforceable in the countries where the goods are located during and after performance of the contract. Practical topic overviews allow the reader to quickly locate relevant subject areas such as “insolvency”, “agreement by standard terms”, or “model clauses”.

Note: because Greek inheritance law, and in particular inheritance tax law, has since been amended several times, we recommend that, for inheritance matters connected with Greece, the current legal position be additionally checked separately, alongside this work, which remains fundamentally sound in substance.
The focus is the special part, covering substantive Greek inheritance law, the essential elements of the relevant procedural law, and the inheritance-law aspects of Greek private international law. The general part sets out the inheritance-law aspects of German private international law. One chapter is devoted to Greek inheritance tax law. Numerous examples, templates, and calculations illustrate the subject matter.
It is aimed at judges, lawyers, notaries, and tax advisers who deal with inheritance matters connected with Greece.
